By saving your seeds, we control our seed and therefore your food supply—we aren’t depending on seed stores or catalogs for difficult to find seed. Hundreds of excellent plant varieties have been discontinued as big corporations have consolidated the seed industry and focused on more profitable varieties. If you have a community garden or would like to plant your own vegetable garden please let us know and we will gladly provide seeds free of charge.
We produce thousands of pounds of heirloom vegetables, fruit, nopal paddles, mushrooms, wild edibles, pastured poultry, quarts of honey, and thousands of eggs per year.
All of it is donated locally with the intention of directly impacting our community.
We are providing weekly deliveries to individuals throughout central Virginia either by pick up or direct delivery for those who are house bound.
We also provide high quality food to community groups such as Food not Bombs and Blessing Warriors to prepare & provide free community meals to those in need & strengthen the bond between neighbors sharing these weekly meals in a public space.
We provide educational programs & presentations for schools and community groups on topics such as food insecurity, indigenous agriculture, seed saving, and more.
We have dedicated a portion of our location to untouched habitat area for wildlife.
We advocate in the community for responsible agriculture practices & offer farm consultations in the state of Virginia.
By shopping the farm you are directly supporting our ability to grow free food for Virginia families.
We are expanding in 2020 to be able to provide even more good quality food to those in need.
